From interviews to album reveals – it’s been another packed week. To keep you up to date, we’ve rounded up some of the best news stories right here.

Oli Sykes Has 12 BMTH Hits Ready!

Back in spring, we shared the good news already: Oli Sykes of Bring Me The Horizon and his wife recently had twins. In a conversation with NME, he not only talked about new music and the band’s future but also about the new priorities in his life.

What’s clear is that BMTH already have new music ready, just waiting to be released:

“I wanted new music out this year. I’ve got so much from the ‘Nex Gen’ archive that I want the world to hear. I literally phoned my label and management and said, ‘It’s nearly here, I’ve got 12 songs and they’re all bangers. They’re so close, we’re going to get the first single out before Rock Am Ring and the second before Reading & Leeds.’”

But as mentioned, other priorities are currently in focus. So when we can expect the new tracks remains open:

“The music will come, but it’s just not the be-all and end-all. We’re realising that we don’t have to put another record out; we just put one out. Most bands would go away for two years, have an actual break. You don’t have to do this, but I want to and I enjoy it. If it doesn’t happen, then it doesn’t happen.”

“Ultimately, that’s going to help the process and help us make some really good music. I can already feel that. I feel comfortable that the band is fine and we’re doing alright. We don’t need to do better. That will help with the output.”

Poppy Debuts “Bruised Sky” Live

On her current U.S. tour, Poppy performed a previously unreleased song live: the track is called “Bruised Sky” and points to new music on the horizon. Although her latest studio album Negative Spaces only dropped at the end of 2024, a new single could already be on the way.

My Chemical Romance Live With Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins

My Chemical Romance are also busy touring the U.S. – with a big surprise for the Chicago crowd. While the band has had The Smashing Pumpkins’ “Bullet With Butterfly Wings” on their setlist for a few weeks, this performance was something special: Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan joined them on stage for the song:

Rise Of The Northstar Announce New Album

With CHAPTER 04: RED FALCON SUPER BATTLE! NEO PARIS WAR!!, Rise Of The Northstar have announced their brand-new studio album. Alongside it comes the single “A.I.R. Max.” The band’s goal?

“to surprise our audience while sticking to our DNA, by bringing something new without crucifying the old. The era of Shogun No Shi is over, please welcome the super Mecha Falcon, symbol of modernisation of content and form, from the writing to the sound — Northstar is coming back!”

Guitarist Evangelion-B adds about the new track:

“While writing A.I.R. Max, I wanted to go back to our roots, back to the WelcAme era. Catchy, groovy riffs with a laid-back attitude. This track stands out from the first two that have already been released, and it's here to remind everyone that even though our sound is evolving, the DNA remains the same.”

Hayley Williams Sings on New David Byrne Track

Paramore’s Hayley Williams features on the new song “What Is The Reason For It?” by David Byrne. The track is part of his solo album Who Is The Sky?, which is out today! Byrne describes the record as follows:

“Every new set of songs, every song even, is a new adventure. There’s always a bit of, ‘How do I work this?’ I’ve found that not every collaboration works, but often when they do, it’s because I’m able to clearly impart what it is I’m trying to do. They hopefully get that, and as a result, we’re now joined together heading to the same unknown place.”

The official video is already out as well:
