Paleface Swiss was founded in 2017 in Switzerland and quickly established themselves as one of the most extreme bands in the modern beatdown and deathcore scene. Their sound is raw, aggressive, and directly shaped by massive breakdowns, dark samples, and uncompromising vocals by frontman Marc “Zelli” Zellweger. Over time, new elements were added to the band’s music: beatdown hardcore was supplemented with deathcore and later even spiced with nu-metal elements. The genre mix makes the Swiss music especially heavy yet catchy.
After the first two EPs Chapter 1: From The Gallows (2018) and Chapter 2: Witch King (2019), the first full-length studio album Chapter 3: The Last Selection was released in 2020. This, along with its successor Fear & Dagger (2022), laid the groundwork for the band’s first international recognition. The Swiss quickly built a growing fanbase, which soon spread to America, where the band still enjoys high regard.
CURSED (2025) and The Wilted EP (2026) secured the band slots at the biggest festivals in the world, moving concerts from clubs to large venues. With success: the 2026 headliner tour to date was almost entirely sold out across Europe.
Paleface Swiss’ music is confrontational and emotionally charged, tackling heavy themes such as inner conflict, anger, and societal extremes. Especially live, Paleface Swiss unleashes their full impact. The shows are brutal, sometimes chaotic, and full of pure energy. While usually no shirt in the crowd stays dry, the band members give their all as well. But it’s not just chants for more mosh pits, crowdsurfing, and two-step dancing that make up the stage show.
