The albums also show a steady evolution: the sound became more accessible, choruses bigger, without losing the dark core. By Impera, the band embraced more arena-rock elements while keeping their identity intact, appealing to both metal fans and listeners outside the scene.
Alongside Tobias Forge as the cardinal figure, the band consists of Nameless Ghouls. While initially fully anonymous, the members’ identities are now known, though they are not highlighted on stage or in music videos. Forge now gives interviews under his real name, while the rest of the band remains in the background.
Live shows are central to Ghost’s success. The elaborate staging and carefully thought-out concepts make each concert feel like a ritual. Despite the theatrics, the music remains the focus, laying the foundation for the band’s immense success. Today, Ghost fills the world’s biggest venues and plays top slots at major festivals.
