Kreator is the name when it comes to
German thrash metal. Founded in 1982 in Essen under the name Tyrant, the band launched a remarkable career in 1984 with their current name. Alongside
Sodom,
Destruction, and
Tankard, they are part of the
Teutonic 4 and are their biggest and most popular representative.
A Career in Albums
The first major highlight in the band's career was the release and aftermath of their second album, PLEASURE TO KILL, in 1986. They toured the USA with this album, even though the members were under 20 years old at the time. The iconic album is still considered one of the most famous, rawest, and most brutal thrash metal albums and marked the beginning of Kreator's cult status.
In the 1990s, the band experimented with emerging genres like
nu-metal and industrial metal, which alienated many fans. The albums OUTCAST, RENEWAL, and ENDORAMA are still controversial and often lead to heated discussions among the band's fans.
Kreator celebrated their comeback in the new millennium. With VIOLENT REVOLUTION,
they returned to their strengths and experienced new career highlights that continue to this day.

Since 2012, Kreator has excelled in organizing the
best metal tours. In 2012, they toured with
Morbid Angel and
Nile, in 2014 with
Arch Enemy,
Sodom, and
Vader, and in 2018 with
Dimmu Borgir,
Hatebreed, and
