If you're into heavy riffs, aggressive vocals, and breakdowns that pack a serious punch, you should definitely have Bite from Leipzig on your radar. The five-piece band operates somewhere between hardcore and metal, deliberately embracing a dark, heavy sound while refusing to be confined by overly polished genre boundaries. Instead of big statements, they deliver a hefty dose of anger, apocalyptic vibes, and pure musical destruction.

Who Are Bite?

Bite hail from Leipzig and have carved out their own niche in the local hardcore and metal scene. The band consists of five musicians who are anything but newcomers. Vocalist Felix previously performed as a shouter for Annisokay, among other projects. Guitarist Vince and other members have also gained experience in various bands and projects, including Pantheress, Agash, and Livyah.

The story of Bite began with the desire to get another project off the ground – one that would have one main musical objective: to be heavy. With Nick joining the lineup, the band's formation was complete. A lot has happened since then, with two EPs and numerous live shows already under their belt.

Between Beatdown, Hardcore, and Metal

So, what do they sound like? Bite describe their music as dark, heavy, and sluggish. That's a pretty accurate summary, as the band sit somewhere between genres: some of their material is too slow for traditional hardcore, while perhaps being too straightforward for classic metal.

Heavy guitars, deep grooves, aggressive vocals, and massive breakdowns define their sound. The goal isn't to cram in as many technical flourishes as possible or write particularly catchy choruses. Bite want to create a certain atmosphere, and it's anything but friendly – in the best possible way, of course.

Things are equally dark when it comes to their lyrics. They explore dystopian and apocalyptic worlds, painting pictures of decay, pain, and a world that is increasingly falling apart. So, if you're into dark beatdown hardcore with plenty of weight behind it, you'll find plenty to enjoy here.

From Sounds Of Agony to Longing For Eternal Sleep

Bite released their debut EP, Sounds Of Agony, in 2022. Its five tracks already made it clear where the band were headed. In March 2023, they followed up with another single, “In Suffering,” before the Leipzig-based band dropped their second EP, Longing for Eternal Sleep, in 2024.

On the EP, the band sound even darker and more refined. Tracks like “Mouth Of The Abyss,” “Inferno,” “Flesh And Bone,” and “Death By A Thousand Cuts” make it clear pretty quickly that this isn't exactly a feel-good record.

“Inferno” and the title track in particular showcase how Bite combine heavy grooves with a suffocating atmosphere. If you want to get a first impression, we'd recommend listening to the entire EP from start to finish.

In 2026, the band released their latest single, “Obsolete,” featuring guest vocalist Skyler Conder, frontman of Varials. Does it sound promising? You bet! Check it out!

Why You Should Have Bite on Your Radar

Bite are an exciting band for anyone who likes their hardcore and metal slow and heavy. The Leipzig-based group aren't trying to cater to every genre expectation; instead, they're doing their own thing. The result is a dark blend of beatdown, hardcore, and metal that has plenty of potential to get the pit moving, especially in a live setting.

If you're into bands like Knocked Loose or heavy beatdown hardcore, you should definitely give Bite a chance. Longing for Eternal Sleep is a great introduction to the band's sound, and we're excited to see what comes next from Leipzig.
