Film Adaptations And The Prequel “The Hobbit”

The Lord of the Rings series of novels consists of six books. The first volume alone sold about 150 million copies worldwide. The entire book series has been adapted into three films, even though Tolkien classified his books as unfilmable. Incidentally, a music legend was discussed for the role of Elrond: David Bowie was supposed to embody the ruler of Rivendell, but this was rejected by director Peter Jackson. 

In addition to the story from Lord of the Rings, there’s another story line: The Hobbit is a prequel to the movie trilogy and shows us the story of Bilbo Baggins. And that’s how the circle’s closed, because at the beginning of Lord of the Rings, Frodo receives the one ring from his uncle Bilbo, which Frodo is supposed to throw into Mount Doom.
