It's sounds a little bit like a nu metal fairytale: In the mid 90s, whilst Korn were on tour, they met the tattoo artist Fred Durst. During a tattoo session, Korn's bass player Fieldy is handed the demo tape of Fred's band - With the first recordings of LIMP BIZKIT (Fun fact: Drunk Fred reportedly tattooed the word "Horn" instead of "Korn"). The demo subsequently then reaches the producer of Korn who likes what he hears. Not only are Fred and co. then given the opportunity to play shows with the likes of Deftones but afterwards there were various labels fighting over the band. In the end, the debut THREE DOLLAR BILL, YALL$ (1997) was released with Interscope Records and certified double platinum. A success that was later topped by their next two records.
However after the EP THE UNQUESTIONABLE TRUTH (PART 1) got rather mixed reviews & a GREATEST HITZ record later, Limp Bizkit decided to go on a hiatus in 2006. It was only until 2011 that the band returned with their comeback record. Since then fans have been patiently waiting for the successor STAMPEDE OF THE DISCO (of which the release was originally planned for July 2014), however Fred Durst wasn't happy with the material and regularly pushes back the release date. All we know is whenever we DO get a new album from the Limp Bizkit camp, we're excited to hear what the band have been working hard on. Top up your Limp Bizkit merch in the meantime, we've plenty of choice online for you!
