Nachdem Blackie Lawless W.A.S.P. im Jahr 1983 auf die Welt losgelassen hatte, sorgte die Band schnell mit skandalösen Bühnenshows für Schlagzeilen. Ihr drittes Album „Inside The Electric Circus“ (1986) bewies jedoch, dass hinter dem Schock-Rock auch erstklassiges Songwriting steckte, das der Band eine weltweite Fangemeinde einbrachte.

Das Album enthält Fan-Favoriten wie die Single „9.5.-N.A.S.T.Y.“ und unterstreicht, dass W.A.S.P. weit mehr als nur eine theatralische Live-Attraktion waren – sie waren eine treibende Kraft des 80er-Jahre Heavy Metal.
