Twenty One Pilots are currently on tour across Europe – we already shared the full setlist here. Who knows how long it would have taken the band to notice the renewed TikTok hype around one of their not-so-new songs if Tyler Joseph’s mom hadn’t given him a call?
We’re talking about a demo version of their track “Doubt”, originally featured on their hugely successful 2015 album Blurryface.
At their recent concert in Poland, Tyler Joseph shared the story live on stage:
“I’d like to tell you something real quick. So, a couple days ago, my mom called me and she said, ‘Hey, did you know you have a song blowing up on TikTok?’ I said, ‘Really, which one?’ And she said, ‘Well, not only is it a 10-year-old song, but it’s actually the demo version of that song as well.’
“So I called Josh [Dun] and I said, you know, ‘I still have that demo version just chilling on a hard-drive at home.’ So sometime later tonight, we’d like to announce here in Poland, that we are gonna officially release the demo version of Doubt tonight.”
