As always, Friday means fresh releases – singles and albums alike. We’ve rounded up the new music for you to explore and dive into this weekend, featuring Poppy, Dayseeker, Serj Tankian, and more!

Poppy: New Song “Unravel” Released

Another track from Poppy, created together with producer Jordan Fish, has just dropped – and this time, it’s not a holiday song cover. “Unravel” also comes with its own official visualizer. Poppy says about her current music:

“I think if you put too many rules or guidelines and guardrails around, it ruins the whole experience. And then you clam up and you can’t do anything else. But if you go into any project that’s creative thinking, ‘I just want to do something that I haven’t done before,’ then you’ll get a different result – and the right people will come and the right people will listen.”

Dayseeker Release New Album

Creature In The Black Night is now available for streaming – or ready to spin on your record player. With their latest single “Crawl Back To My Coffin”, Dayseeker delivered one final taste of the record.

According to the band, the song is:

“A metaphor for love that hurts when you close yourself off, leading you to withdraw even further. The excitement of meeting someone new when you’re ‘dead,’ and the feeling that this person brings you back to life – only to end in pain and make you wish you’d never left your grave.”

The Foo Fighters recently announced a U.S. tour – and dropped a brand-new song along with it. Frontman Dave Grohl wrote a heartfelt letter about the message behind “Asking For A Friend”, saying in part:

“Asking for a Friend” is a song for those who have waited patiently in the cold, relying on hope and faith for their horizon to appear. Searching for “proof” when hanging by a wish until the sun shines again.

One of many songs to come…"
