Viral Merch Fail at Deftones and System Of A Down Show

Deftones and System Of A Down recently played a joint concert. The merch sold at the show has unexpectedly gone viral…

As usual, Deftones and System Of A Down had merch available at their concert in Toronto, Canada – including special shirts made just for this show. A bit more special than you might expect: on closer inspection of the designs, the band names don’t match the band photos. In this case, System Of A Down are labeled as Deftones and vice versa. What might seem like a major misprint obviously didn’t flop – quite the opposite. The merch has gone viral and is already highly sought after online, especially since the shirts won’t be reprinted.

John Dolmayan of System Of A Down wrote on Instagram:

„Many will want these , few will get them ! Only available at the Toronto shows, in fact they may already all be gone…“

The gag has worked so well that you might think it was planned all along. Whether coincidence or not, business is definitely booming!
