According to Variety, Green Day are teaming up with Live Nation Entertainment for a new film! The band plans to tell a comedic story inspired by their early years, focusing on the wild adventures of life on the road in a touring van. Billie Joe Armstrong instantly gets nostalgic when talking about the theme:

“Van days rule. You will drive all night on no sleep then play a show for 10 kids in a basement of a friend of a friend’s house 50 miles east of anywhere you’ve ever heard of. But you’ll do it again the next day, and the one after that. Because you’re doing it with your bandmates who become your family and it’s unlike anything you’ve ever known. It’s electric. Let the music and mischief ensue.”

The film’s plot follows a young band who believe they’ve landed a New Year’s Eve support slot for Green Day. Their road trip to Los Angeles turns into anything but a smooth ride, as the three friends encounter all kinds of unexpected chaos along the way.

Some familiar faces will also be part of the cast. Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey, both well-known from "The Office", are set to appear in the film.

There’s no release date yet, but we’re used to waiting. In the meantime, why not create your own road trip playlist with Green Day’s biggest hits from our top list?
