All Architects Cover Songs: Slipknot Classics, Deftones & More

Architects aren’t a band you’d immediately associate with cover songs. All the more interesting, then, to see which tracks they’ve reinterpreted over the course of their career.

Sam Carter from Architects even says it himself in one of the videos below:

“We never really do covers.”

And indeed, the cover tracks listed here were hidden pretty well across their discography. Still, some big names show up: Deftones, Slipknot, Nirvana… Listen to all of their reinterpretations here.

Change (In the House of Flies) – Deftones

The one cover everyone talks about: a Deftones classic from White Pony. The track was released through Spotify Singles in 2019:

Wait and Bleed – Slipknot

Another classic, though this one goes much further back. Architects covered “Wait and Bleed” from Slipknot’s debut for the Rocksound compilation album Worship and Tributes, which also features bands like Bury Tomorrow, Neck Deep, Enter Shikari, and more.

Territorial Pissings – Nirvana

Architects performed this Nirvana cover live in the UK for BBC Radio 1 in 2017:

Of Dust And Nations – Thrice

Two cover songs appear on the deluxe edition of Daybreaker (2013): “Of Dust and Nations” by Thrice and the final track, “Blood Bank” by Bon Iver.

Blood Bank – Bon Iver

Officer Down – Stampin’ Ground

Another track from a compilation, this time from Century Media under the theme Covering 20 Years of Extremes. The album was released in 2008, and alongside Architects’ contribution “Officer Down,” it also includes covers by Heaven Shall Burn, Arch Enemy, Terror, and more. The cover also appears on the bonus track edition of Architects’ album Ruin.

Two More Live Covers

According to setlist.fm, Architects have also played “Sin City” by AC/DC twice and “Knowledge” by Operation Ivy once at their shows.
