Kanonenfieber stand for intense blackened death metal with a clear conceptual focus: World War I and its (human) abysses form the band’s thematic foundation. The musical intensity meets a visual aesthetic shaped by historical motifs and military symbolism, which is also reflected in our official band merch.

Kanonenfieber is a project that has always positioned itself thematically. With Menschenmühle (2021), the Bamberg-based band laid the foundation for their unmistakable style: a blend of death metal, black metal elements, and atmospheric sound, always embedded in a historical and well-researched exploration of World War I.
The lyrics are based on real sources such as letters, diaries, or historical documents, giving Kanonenfieber’s music a special authenticity. Musically, frantic blast beats merge with heavy midtempo passages and haunting melodies.
With Die Urkatastrophe (2024), the concept was further deepened and musically realized in an even more complex way. Soldatenschicksale (2026) is their most commercially successful album to date.
Songs like “Menschenmühle,” “Sturmtrupp,” or “Der Füsilier” exemplify the intense atmosphere oscillating between aggression and oppressive moods. The live shows are equally intense and reflect the themes of the songs. The band performs exclusively masked and uses pyrotechnics and props, such as cannons, in their live production.
Behind the collective is mastermind Noise. Together with the second studio member Hans, he is responsible for composition and lyrics. Live, the duo is supported by session musicians, who also remain anonymous.
