Slim fit, skinny, high waist, ankle jeans - It's not that easy to buy jeans these days - Here's what the most common terms mean:

Slim Fit vs. Skinny Fit

Many brands use the terms slim fit and skinny fit with the same meaning, but that's not really accurate.
Skinny Fit pants or skinny jeans (when the material is denim), had their big fashion revival back in the mid 2000s when every emo kid would be living in them - Basically they're the opposite of the so called Straight Cut jeans (often also referred to as regular fit jeans). Those are form-fitting but with a straight cut. Somewhere between both styles lies the Slim Fit, perfect for everyone that feels trapped in skinnies. It does however, depend on the brand how tight "Skinny" and "Slim" the jeans actually are, which means that Levi's Skinny Jeans aren't necessarily as tight as ones from Dr. Denim. You can buy skinny jeans and slim fit pants as "ankle jeans", which means that they're cropped at the end and you can see roughly a hand width of skin between your shoes and jeans. Combined with simple VANS sneakers, both styles will suit the situation perfectly, whether it be for a date, work or a gig.

Cargos

Aka "combats" because of their military origin, these pants have a loose cut and are very popular in the Metal scene. The trademark of Dickies cargos? Big pockets on the sides!

Jeggings

Jeggings are basically leggings that look like super tight jeans. The big difference between jeggings and skinny fit jeans is that jeggings mostly have a elastic waistband instead of a zipper and a button. If you haven't already, check out our Cheap Monday selection now.
