Emperor is one of the most renowned and influential names in the Black Metal genre. The band combines progressive and sophisticated Black Metal with symphonic elements and has been an early influence on scene giants like Cradle Of Filth, Children of Bodom, and Dimmu Borgir. The group was first formed in 1991 but disbanded in 2001 due to creative differences. In 2005, they reunited.
