During Whitsun (Pentecost), the Wave Gotik Treffen—one of the world's largest music and culture festivals for Goths—returns to Leipzig. This marks the 33rd time the scene's "family reunion" will take place in the Saxon city. To ensure you are perfectly prepared for WGT 2026, we have summarized all the essential information for you.

When and where does WGT 2026 take place?
This year's Wave Gotik Treffen will take place from May 22 to May 25, 2026, during the Whitsun weekend in Leipzig.
A vast array of program highlights will be spread across approximately 50 different locations throughout the city. You can find out exactly what is happening where over the holiday weekend in the official venue information.
Program and Events
Throughout the entire weekend, concerts, live performances, and other events will take place in various clubs, venues, shops, and more in the entire city.
Musically, this year's Wave-Gotik-Treffen offers a truly powerful lineup. Look forward to bands such as Moonspell, Heidevolk, Lacrimosa, Solar Fake, Suicide Commando, Vogelfrey, Kim Wilde, Einstürzende Neubauten, DAF, Frontline Assembly, Covenant, Clan Of Xymox, London After Midnight, Perturbator, She Past Away, and more. The WGT program also includes readings, lectures, exhibitions, parties, theater and variety shows, church and cemetery tours, film screenings, and more, making the four-day event extremely diverse.
Additionally, the annual Victorian Picnic takes place in Clara-Zetkin-Park. A variety of outfits, ranging from Victorian style to Cyber Goth, make this get-together a very special highlight.

Tickets, Wristbands, and Access
On the first day of your visit, you will exchange your ticket for a wristband to gain access to WGT 2026. Depending on whether you have an "Obsorgekarte" (camping permit) or not, you will receive a corresponding wristband.
The so-called Obsorgekarte entitles you to use the tent and motorhome sites. This is only valid in conjunction with a valid WGT ticket.
Where can I get tickets?
Tickets for the Wave-Gotik-Treffen 2026 are available via the online form on the official website. The ticket is valid for all 4 days of the festival and costs 190 Euros. Access rights for tent and motorhome sites, as well as parking vouchers, can be added as extra bookings.
Travel and Accommodation
Your entrance ticket to the WGT also serves as a pass for local public transport in MDV Zone 110. This includes all trams, buses, and S-Bahn trains, with the exception of special lines such as city tours (the WGT special line is an exception and can be used). The exact period of validity and further details can be found on the back of the ticket.
If you are arriving by car, you will need a parking voucher (Parkvignette). It entitles you to park in the WGT parking lot on all days of the festival. If you haven't purchased one in advance, it is also available on-site.
Camping areas are available for overnight stays. If you wish to stay at the motorhome site, a special caravan card is required. This is available in two versions: with or without an electricity connection. Additionally, every person must hold an Obsorgekarte.
Towing vehicles, such as cars pulling caravans or tent trailers, also require a parking voucher and must be parked in a separate parking area. Staying overnight in the car parking lot is not permitted.

Despite—or perhaps because of—the packed program, the WGT is far more than just a festival for Goths and fans; it is, above all, a family reunion! When Leipzig drapes itself in black for a long weekend and encounters, live music, art, creativity, and a whole lot of love collide, it creates the exact atmosphere that makes the WGT so special.
