During the final preparations for this year’s Tomorrowland Festival in Boom, Belgium, a massive fire broke out yesterday. The Mainstage caught fire and burned down to a large extent, even though the fire could be contained by emergency services. Here’s the good news first: No one was injured, and the festival is set to take place despite this enormous challenge.
Tomorrowland Tragedy: Mainstage Was Designed Over Years
Every year, the mainstage at the Tomorrowland Festival is a true highlight – and not just because of the many top artists performing there. The stage itself is a real work of art and is conceived time and again with a lot of love and effort by the Tomorrowland team and perfected until the end. Debby Wilmsen spoke on behalf of Tomorrowland:
“Years of love and passion have gone into building that stage. Those teams are devastated.”
The fire in Boom also caused a massive cloud of smoke over the entire site, but it was officially confirmed that there were no injuries.
