Fans received an update across social media yesterday from The Offspring and their longtime guitarist Kevin Wasserman, aka Noodles. According to the post, we won't be seeing him on stage with the band for the time being, as he is stepping away from live performances for a while to address a serious health issue. His full message reads:

“It is with deep sadness that I have to announce that I need to step away from live performances for a while to deal with a sudden and fairly serious health issue.

The rest of the band has my back, is super supportive, and will keep rocking you all in my absence. I hope to be back on stage sooner rather than later. Until then, I will miss all of you with all of my heart.

Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. I really appreciate it."

We're keeping our fingers firmly crossed for a speedy recovery.

In the meantime, it remains to be seen whether The Offspring will announce a touring stand-in on guitar. In the near term, this impacts a few select shows across the US. On the side, the band is working on the follow-up to their latest album Supercharged, continuing their collaboration with producer Bob Rock.
