Exactly 20 years ago, Evanescence released their second studio album, The Open Door, following up the worldwide success of their debut album Fallen. Another massive step for the band, which is now being celebrated with an anniversary edition of the album. For the band as well as the fans, this represents a look back. Amy Lee reflects on the era of The Open Door in 2006:
“The Open Door was such an important time for me, pushing boundaries and feeding my desire to experiment and grow. I wanted to connect on a deeper level, and fought for a future for the music I loved. It was beyond worth it. The fact that it resonates with so many people 20 years later means so much to me.”
