Perhaps not the first collab that would come to mind for Electric Callboy – but somehow it fits together surprisingly well: The guys have covered “You Say Run”, one of the most popular OST tracks from the shōnen anime My Hero Academia, which is celebrating its 10th birthday this year.
Collaboration with Yuki Hayashi
The song cover didn't just come out of nowhere: On the occasion of the anime's anniversary, the composer of the original song, Yuki Hayashi, sought out a collaboration with artists for English vocals – the choice ultimately fell on Electric Callboy, who commented:
“We are beyond excited to have this opportunity to add our vocals to ‘You Say Run’. The melody of ‘You Say Run’ is so powerful and uplifting—we just absolutely love this song!”
“Working on this track was pure fun, and it was a huge honour to collaborate on it. We can’t wait for everyone to hear it! We really hope you’re as excited for it as we are.”
Yuki Hayashi touched upon why Electric Callboy are such a great fit for the fan-favorite “You Say Run” – because if there's one thing they share with the anime, it's definitely the same level of energy:
‘You Say Run,’ one of the signature tracks representing My Hero Academia, has been reborn with an unprecedented surge of energy by fusing with the incredible vocals of Electric Callboy. I am deeply honoured and thrilled to share this special sound born from the intersection of our shared energy.”
Electric Callboy are keeping plenty busy in the time between the release of their new album TANZNEID and their upcoming World Tour in early 2027. The only question remaining is whether fans of the collaboration will get to hear the song played live during the tour.
