The Story Behind The Sound

Body Count was formed in 1990 in Los Angeles, California. The band members, including Ernie C (guitar), Vincent Price (bass), Ill Will (drums) and Sean E Sean (sampler), along with Ice-T, quickly made a name for themselves through their unvarnished confrontation with issues such as racism, police brutality and social inequality. Their self-titled debut album Body Count was released in 1992 and caused nationwide controversy with songs like "Cop Killer," which only made the band more famous. Despite - or perhaps because of that - the many challenges, including lineup changes and the tragic loss of some members, Body Count have continued their musical mission and released albums like Manslaughter (2014), Bloodlust (2017) and Carnivore (2020).
