During the final preparations for this year’s Tomorrowland Festival in Boom, Belgium, a massive fire broke out yesterday. The Mainstage caught fire and burned down to a large extent, even though the fire could be contained by emergency services. Here’s the good news first: No one was injured, and the festival is set to take place despite this enormous challenge.

Tomorrowland Tragedy: Mainstage Was Designed Over Years

Every year, the mainstage at the Tomorrowland Festival is a true highlight – and not just because of the many top artists performing there. The stage itself is a real work of art and is conceived time and again with a lot of love and effort by the Tomorrowland team and perfected until the end. Debby Wilmsen spoke on behalf of Tomorrowland:

“Years of love and passion have gone into building that stage. Those teams are devastated.”

The fire in Boom also caused a massive cloud of smoke over the entire site, but it was officially confirmed that there were no injuries.

The Festival Will Take Place Nonetheless

Tomorrowland is planned for this weekend, July 18–20, 2025, and arrival is possible from today as originally planned. In an official info statement, Tomorrowland writes:

"Due to a serious incident and fire on the Tomorrowland Mainstage, our beloved Mainstage has been severely damaged.

We can confirm that no one was injured during the incident.

We can announce that, DreamVille (campsite) will open tomorrow (Thursday, July 17) as planned and will be ready for all DreamVille visitors.
All Global Journey activities in Brussels and Antwerp will take place as planned.

We are focused on finding solutions for the festival weekend (Friday – Saturday – Sunday).
More updates and detailed information will be communicated as soon as possible."

Some of the biggest acts at Tomorrowland 2025 include Armin van Buuren, Eric Prydz, Afrojack, David Guetta, and Robin Schulz.

We wish everyone involved – from the team to the artists and fans – a great festival despite this immense challenge!
