Guns N’ Roses – one of the biggest rock ‘n’ roll legends in the world. And even though they reunited in 2016, the band hadn’t played even once at Germany’s biggest metal festival until this year. Guns N’ Roses celebrated their debut at Wacken Open Air this past weekend, on July 31, 2025.
Guns N’ Roses: Over 3 hours on stage at W:O:A 2025!
For this first-time appearance on the Holy Ground, Guns N’ Roses brought a truly massive set. They played for over 3 hours, filling the time with songs from their catalog, along with two Black Sabbath covers to honor recently deceased metal legend Ozzy Osbourne. This was a record for Wacken: the longest set a band has ever played there. Will that time ever be topped in the future?
With "Welcome To The Jungle" as the opener, "Paradise City" as the final song, and tracks like "Sweet Child o’ Mine" and "November Rain" in between, Axl Rose and co. brought all their classics, including a guitar solo by Slash. Vocalist Axl Rose is currently facing a lot of criticism for his performance – but still, this was a historic show and an impressive feat given its length. How much longer we’ll be able to see Guns N’ Roses live remains to be seen.
