With Creatures the sound was still raw, but with Infamous the first major stylistic step followed. It became darker and more experimental, combining metalcore with industrial elements and a provocative aesthetic. Reincarnate 2014 brought the band around frontman Chris Motionless further into the spotlight and gave them their first major commercial success. Graveyard Shift 2017 finally created a sound that perfectly combined heaviness and catchiness and further strengthened their rise. Disguise 2019 showed how strongly electronic elements and modern production were integrated into the overall sound. Scoring The End Of The World 2022 consistently continued this path and also built on the chart success of the previous three records. Today Motionless In White move confidently between metalcore, industrial metal and alternative elements without forgetting their roots.
In addition to the musical aspect, the band is also known for their visual presentation. The members appear in gothic looks. In music videos as well as at live shows they wear coordinated outfits and refine their appearance with elaborate makeup.
Live, Motionless In White are known for intense shows with a clear visual staging. Makeup, stage design and sound interact and turn every concert into an immersive experience. The live production repeatedly picks up elements from music videos and album artworks. This is staged with a strong light show, fire and pyrotechnics and props such as skulls or Halloween pumpkins are also used.
