In 2006, Billy Talent’s most successful album to date was released, the second part of an album trilogy. Billy Talent II marked the definitive breakthrough for the Canadian band and has already been certified double platinum in Germany and even five-times platinum in their home country. Accordingly, the group is emotionally looking back on that time on the occasion of the album’s 20th anniversary and plans to play the entire album live on tour:
“20 years of BT II. 20 YEARS!? How is that possible? We had no idea this record would change our lives forever and we have so many amazing memories from that time. We are currently working on new music but thought we would take a break to go and celebrate this anniversary the way it deserves, by playing it front to back!
We know this is a limited run and we can’t make it everywhere but that’s what’s going to make these shows so special. We have three intimate shows in Europe, three festivals in Europe, then we’ll end with a bang in our hometown at the RBC Amphitheatre.
Could there be a few more in there? Perhaps! We can’t wait to see you. We miss you. It’s been too long!"
European Tour Dates Including Festivals
Two dates are still blurred out on the tour poster, so it looks like two more June shows are yet to be revealed. Headline shows have been confirmed in France, the Netherlands, and Austria, along with two festival appearances in Germany and one in Switzerland. Here’s the full list so far:
