Just as Slipknot wrapped up their spectacular 25-year Anniversary Tour, a unique piece of band history emerges: an unmasked soundcheck from 2000 is making waves!

The Instagram account @slipknotvideos has uploaded a clip featuring “The Nine” performing a soundcheck of the song "Liberate" – without their iconic masks and outfits. The video is from a New Year’s Day performance on January 1, 2000, at the Super Toad in their hometown of Des Moines, Iowa. The soundcheck appears to have been recorded right before the show, prior to the band donning their famous stage costumes.

The video caption reads:

"The new millennium kicks off with a performance by Slipknot in Des Moines at the Super Toad. The show took place on January 1, 2000. In addition to a spectacular full recording of the concert, the soundcheck was also captured."

Jay Weinberg Working on His First Solo Album

Exciting news also comes from former Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg: The 34-year-old is currently working on his first solo album, which is expected to be released later this year.

In an emotional post on his social media channels, Weinberg revealed on New Year’s Eve that he has been developing some of these songs since his twenties. Now, he’s found the inspiration to finally complete the material:

We can’t wait to see when the solo album will be officially announced.
