With "Metallica Saved My Life", the band is presenting a new film project that doesn’t place the spotlight on Metallica themselves. Instead, the project is dedicated to the stories of their fans – an emotional journey through the many experiences that connect their community with the band.
On Instagram, Metallica shared the following:
"Not quite finished yet, we want YOU to be among the first to see our latest film project by award-winning director Jonas Åkerlund, all about the lifeblood of this band: the fans. This documentary explores our world through the lives of fans who have supported each other through highs, lows, trials, and triumphs for over four decades."
Where and when will the film be shown?
So far, only the U.S. cities on the M72 World Tour this spring and summer have been listed for film tickets. So it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer before "Metallica Saved My Life" hits screens in Europe.

Metallica Launch Blood Drive Campaign
Just yesterday, Metallica also announced a partnership with the American Red Cross: the Red Cross x Metallica Blood Drives. This means that fans can now donate blood at selected tour stops across North America! Everyone who participates will receive a limited-edition T-shirt – while supplies last.
On Instagram, Metallica wrote about their partners:
"We’re proud to announce we’re teaming up with the @americanredcross and our @allwithinmyhandsfoundation to host Red Cross x Metallica Blood Drives!"
