Electric Callboy were founded in 2010 as Eskimo Callboy in Castrop-Rauxel and quickly made a name for themselves in the scene with their unconventional approach. The combination of metalcore, electronic dance music, and humorous lyrics quickly set them apart from other bands in the genre. With the addition of clean vocalist Nico Sallach and the renaming to Electric Callboy in 2022, the sound evolved significantly, opening the doors to an international stage career.
In 2012, just two years after their formation, the band debuted with their first album Bury Me In Vegas. Besides screamer Kevin Ratajczak, Sebastian “Sushi” Biesler was the second vocalist and clean singer. The debut album and the follow-up We Are The Mess (2014) brought Electric Callboy their first successes in Germany and Europe. Scene-oriented listeners quickly appreciated the band’s unique crossover sound and attitude.
Crystals (2015), The Scene (2017), and Rehab (2019) further solidified EC’s success, while also maturing their sound without losing their edge. The albums produced hits like “My Own Summer” and “MC Thunder” and secured festival slots internationally.
In early 2020, Sushi announced his departure to focus on his own projects. Nico Sallach, previously in To The Rats And Wolves, who had often toured with EC, was recruited as his successor. With Nico on board, a new phase began, bringing the band significantly more energy and international attention. The album TEKKNO (2022) reached the top of the charts and catapulted Electric Callboy to headline festival posters worldwide.
Songs like “Hypa Hypa,” “Pump It,” or “Spaceman” demonstrate how effortlessly heavy riffs, club beats, and catchy choruses can be combined. This mix regularly creates a party atmosphere live: mosh pits alternate with dance moves, seriousness with total chaos.
Visually, the band has also become increasingly recognizable since TEKKNO. Music videos, stage outfits, and social media content are self-ironic and highly distinctive, leading to viral moments. This has made Electric Callboy one of the most visible bands in modern metal, far beyond genre boundaries.
In addition to the music and live energy, fan engagement is a central part of their success. Fan clubs and Discord servers organize meet-ups and activities at concerts, while the band gives back to their listeners with special promotions and contests.
