It’s only been a week since Yungblud delivered a massive performance at Black Sabbath’s farewell concert. With that performance and the current album Idols, Yungblud is on everyone’s lips right now — and clearly ambitious to keep pushing things further. Proof of that is the announcement of the first ever Yungblud documentary film, titled “Are You Ready, Boy?”
The whole thing was directed by UK filmmaker Paul Dugdale, and was shot at Hansa Studios in Berlin – a location that, according to Yungblud, holds a very special atmosphere. On top of that, the film asks some of the biggest questions – as Yungblud shared in his announcement on social media:
“I wanted to make a film that truly documents where we are right now in this moment at the release of my most ambitious album to date. Berlin has always radiated complete unfiltered truth every time I have visited it and hansa studios is fucking iconic. You can feel the history in Hansa; it’s in the silence between takes, the ceiling above looming over you. You’re standing in the shadows of all these legends asking yourself who the fuck am I and what am I gonna lead behind?
This album forces you to look in a mirror and question who you are without compromise. It’s about comprehending what the ‘Idols’ in your life may have taught you but inevitably realising that all the answers came from within you. It’s about confronting legacy. Not bowing down, but standing toe-to-toe with it. Challenging it. Carrying it forward in your own way. This film is a journey. It’s raw. It’s uncomfortable for me to watch and I’m terrified to put it out - but I think that’s the point.”
So if you are ready, you can watch the film in cinemas worldwide on August 20 and 24, 2025. Tickets will be available starting July 17 at yungblud.film!
