Slipknot know how to surprise their fans. After the band fronted by Corey Taylor recently teased that they were working on new music, the guys followed through shortly afterward and unexpectedly released a brand-new song. “Arsenal” is the name of the track, and it comes with an accompanying music video directed by percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan himself.

The Music Video for Slipknot’s New Song “Arsenal”

A lot has happened since Slipknot last released new music. “Arsenal” is therefore the first new track since the official departure of Craig Jones in 2023 and Sid Wilson last month, as well as the first song the masked outfit recorded with their current drummer Eloy Casagrande. The single was also released through their own label, (sic)est Records, for the first time. A lot is going on in the House of Knot!

“Arsenal” could potentially also be the first taste of a new album, although no further information has been revealed yet by the Nu Metal outfit.

Recently, the experimental album Look Outside The Window, which the band had kept in the vault for quite some time, was released for Record Store Day. Before that, fans got to enjoy the standalone single “Bone Church” in 2023. Their last full-length album, The End, So Far, was released in 2022 through their former label Roadrunner Records.

Hey, I’m Julia, and I’ve been working editorially in the scene for a long time. “It was never just a phase, mom” — from metalcore to emo to nu metal, I’ve loved and lived everything since my teens that lets me scream out my emotions in any situation. When I’m not listening to music, I keep up with news and trends from the scene. You’ll also often find me at concerts and festivals or out on long walks in the fields with my dog.
