Only this year President started their journey as a band with a mysterious announcement for Download Festival. Now the year isn’t even over yet, their debut EP King Of Terrors hasn’t even been released, and they’ve already secured their first headliner slot at an English festival for next summer. If that isn’t a career.
President at Takedown Festival 2026
On social media, President recently announced their performance as headliner at Takedown Festival 2026, which will take place from April 3–4 at the Portsmouth Guildhall. President will perform on the second festival night and have already been prominently highlighted by the organisers:
“On Saturday, April 4, we’re handing the reins to PRESIDENT, one of the most talked-about new acts in UK heavy music. Their April ‘Campaign Trail’ tour sold out instantly, and their debut EP King Of Terrors has struck a chord with fans through its cinematic intensity. Their headline set will be a statement, and we’re excited to see them take the Takedown main stage in full force.”
We can surely be curious to see how President’s show will have developed by the time of this big performance. In any case, the band’s tour dates so far have sold phenomenally well.
However, President are not the only highlight at Takedown 2026. Alongside such a young band as President, there will also be seasoned classics on Friday night, with the Motörhead set by Phil Campbell And The Bastard Sons, in memory of Lemmy Kilmister.
“With younger fans rediscovering the roots of heavy music – especially following the passing of icons like Ozzy Osbourne – we’re honoured to have Phil Campbell And The Bastard Sons headline Friday, April 3 with a full Motörhead set. It’s a chance to celebrate a legacy that continues to inspire across generations."
More bands are still waiting to be announced!
