Polaris are returning.
On social media, the Australian band shared new artwork that immediately captivates visually and is reminiscent of a black hole. More info is available via the link in their story, leading to their website and a sign-up for their mailing list. The same artwork—potentially a new album cover?—is also featured here in combination with the matching title “THE DARK”. Anyone signing up for the newsletter receives the following grateful message from Polaris:
"Thank you for joining the community in anticipation of our next chapter.
Your love and support has been a gift to us over these past three years.
We are excited to offer you something in return very soon."
Polaris last released their studio album Fatalism in 2023, followed by the instrumental version in 2025. The record was released shortly after the tragic news of the death of their guitarist and friend Ryan Siew in July of the same year. After a prolonged silence around the band, major plans now seem close to fruition. We'll stay tuned.
