After more than 20 years of shaping heavy music history, Parkway Drive have fulfilled a dream performance in their home country. Last night, they played a two-act concert at the Sydney Opera House – probably the world’s most famous opera house and one of Australia's top landmarks.
These words from Parkway Drive make it clear just how much this performance meant to them:
“For over two decades, we have carried our home in our hearts as we roamed around the world [...] Australia has made us; from the dirt to the sky, it is who we are.”
But it wasn’t just Australian fans in attendance. Loyal listeners from all around the world traveled to witness this special moment. And special it truly was – complete with dress code, a full live orchestra, and authentic Australian stage décor made from floral and plant arrangements.
After the show, the band shared this on Instagram:
"To quote the Sydney Opera House staff. “We have never felt the concert hall shake like that”. Thank you for having us, and thank you all who attended this momentous evening. This truly is HOME."
