With both German stops of their M72 World Tour 2026, Metallica have broken new attendance records, including the first No Repeat Weekend of the entire tour, in Frankfurt.
Record #1: Frankfurt - Deutsche Bank Park
The band performed the two shows at Deutsche Bank Park in front of over 62,000 fans, making them the largest concerts ever to take place at the venue. This was officially confirmed by the promoter and is due to a very specific reason: the in-the-round stage, or 360° stage, which allows for full utilization of the entire stadium capacity.
Record #2: Berlin Olympiastadion
In Berlin, Metallica didn't just break a local record. With their standalone concert at the Berlin Olympiastadion, just one week after their record in Frankfurt, they surpassed the attendance figures for all stadium concerts ever played across the whole of Germany. 94,000 fans were on site to celebrate the final German show of the tour with the metal legends. With this achievement, Metallica have now replaced U2 at the #1 spot, who set the previous record in 2009 with around 90,000 attendees.
A moment to remember, also for James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich, and Robert Trujillo:
"Night after night, city after city, the #MetallicaFamily is bringing it! Yesterday, over 94,000 of you helped break the record for the biggest EVER show at Olympiastadion. Thank you! "
From here on out, the tour will continue to take Metallica through Europe and the UK until early July.
