In May 2026, Die Toten Hosen aren't just dropping their final album, Trink aus, wir müssen gehen! (pre-order here), but also a documentary film chronicling its creation. Since an occasion like this won't happen again, the documentary will be shown in cinemas. Be sure to mark your calendars: the film will run exclusively on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. If you can't make it to the cinema, you can stream the doc starting May 20 on the ARD Mediathek or watch it on TV on May 23 on Das Erste.

Vocalist Campino shared some insight into what might be the final documentary we see in this form about one of the greatest German bands of our time:

“Eric Friedler and his team accompanied us over a long period of time—during the creation of new music and right in the middle of the process of an album that we knew for certain would be our last regular studio album with new recordings. Even though we’ve worked with Eric before, this situation was special: this time, he was closer than ever before, capturing crucial moments without a safety net.”

This album didn't happen overnight—the musicians headed into the studio as early as 2024, and those insights will be featured throughout the 90-minute film.

Theater Tickets are available now at www.lufkino.com/film/, where you can also find your nearest participating theater. We recommend checking it out soon to grab the best seats!

On Das Erste, the film will air on May 23, 2026, at 11:25 PM.
