They've existed as a band for a longer time than Rise Against, Volbeat and Foo Fighters combined and still continue to tour the world even 55 years after their formation: Of course we're talking about The Rolling Stones.

Band history

The former school mates Mick Jagger and Keith Richards met at a train platform in 1961 and decided to hang out and listen to records together. Shortly after, they formed the group "Little Boy Blue and the Blue Boys“ together with Dick Taylor and started making music. Having received their first record deal as "The Rollin' Stones" at the label "Decca", the self titled debut THE ROLLING STONES was released back in 1964. After successful singles such as 'It's All Over Now,' 'The Last Time' & the legendary hymn '(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,' The Rolling Stones continued their worldwide breakthrough.

1971 was the year in which the record STICKY FINGERS was released - On the artwork the famous tongue is seen for the first time, something of which can still be seen on most Rolling Stones merch nowadays. After a long inactive phase, the band celebrated their 50th anniversary and made a return with the full lineup for the first time in many years back in 2012. Four years later in December 2016 they released their 23rd studio album BLUE & LONESOME, a record fully consisting of cover songs. Even though Mick Jagger and Co. are all around 70 years old, they still continued to announce new shows shortly after the release.
