NCT 127 ist das Akronym für »Neo Culture Technology« & die Zahl 127, die die Längenkoordinate von Seoul, Südkorea, der Heimat von K-Pop, repräsentiert. Die Band debütierte im Juli 2016 mit dem Mega-Hit »Fire Truck« und hat seitdem großen Erfolg mit den Singles »Cherry Bomb« & »Simon Says« gehabt.
