Background - Who Are The Amity Affliction?

The band from Gympie - a small town on the east coast of Australia - was formed in 2003 (bassist Ahren Stringer is actually the last remaining founding member). Five years later, their first album Severed Ties (2008) was released. With numerous studio albums, the band regularly tops the charts in Australia. Let the Ocean Take Me (2014) brought The Amity Affliction international breakthrough success: a platinum certification in Australia and #31 on the US charts. Over the years, the group has toured with most relevant figures in the scene, such as Architects, The Ghost Inside, and Being As An Ocean, to name just a few.

The Recipe for Success

In August 2016, Joel Birch and his crew released their sixth album This Could Be Heartbreak. On their first single "I Bring The Weather With Me," they once again showcased what they do best: Melodic Metalcore with incredibly personal and emotional lyrics. With their album Misery in 2018, the band delivered a cinematic video trilogy in which band members Ahren Stringer and Joel Birch themselves acted as protagonists. "Drag The Lake" became a hit single. And the band continues to release music with Everyone Loves You … Once You Leave Them in 2020 and Not Without My Ghosts in 2023, always exciting their fans and rocking stages!
