This week once again had a lot in store for the metal and core community: new songs, new albums, new live videos and more from acts like Parkway Drive, I Prevail and Knocked Loose. But alongside the anticipation of new music, a sad piece of news unfortunately overshadowed the last few days: At The Gates vocalist Tomas Lindberg has passed away. Read the band’s statement in the news.
Parkway Drive: Berlin club show in stream
Their exclusive club show in Berlin last Wednesday, played in front of only a few hundred fans, has been made available by Parkway Drive as a special experience under the title “Closer than you think.” You can still watch the concert — as a warm-up for the tour starting today — on Magenta. Here’s the link to the video!
I Prevail release “Violent Nature”
Violent Nature is finally here: the fourth studio album by I Prevail, and the first with new songs without vocalist Brian Burkheiser. Eric Vanlerberghe is therefore featured twice as much on the record, whose singles “Into Hell,” “Rain,” “Annihilate Me” and “Violent Nature” we already got to know. Here’s the full album playlist:
Knocked Loose vocalist Bryan Garris got engaged
Wonderful news this week from Knocked Loose vocalist Bryan Garris, who got engaged to his girlfriend. In his Instagram post he writes:
"Yesterday, in the backyard of our home with our family, I asked my best friend to be my wife."
Congratulations to the two!
Of Mice & Men present their new single “Troubled Water”
It won’t be long until Of Mice & Men release their new album Another Miracle: the time has come on November 14. But beforehand, the third single is already out, following “Wake Up” and the title track. Listen to the new song “Troubled Water” here:
Paradise Lost: New album “Ascension” out now
Paradise Lost are also celebrating release day today. Ascension is already the seventeenth studio album in their discography and features 12 tracks, including the singles “Tyrants Serenade,” “Serpent On The Cross” and “Silence Like The Grave.” Time for a first spin:
At The Gates vocalist Tomas Lindberg has passed away
Sadly, we have to share that a member of At The Gates left us this week. Vocalist Tomas Lindberg had cancer and passed away due to the illness and its treatment. The band wrote a heartfelt statement on his passing:
"[Tomas Lindberg 1972 - 2025]
Tomas passed away this morning following complications related to his ongoing cancer treatment.
Despite intensive medical efforts, his life could not be saved.
Tomas - You were an inspiration to us all. A true friend, both compassionate & sympathetic. You will always be remembered for your generosity and your creative spirit.
You will be eternally missed.
Forever in our hearts."
Our thoughts are with all of Tomas Lindberg’s relatives and friends. Rest in peace.
