For weeks now, rumors have been circulating about Slipknot parting ways with their longtime member and DJ Sid Wilson, who played a key role in shaping their sound early on - and now the decision is out in the open. Slipknot posted a very brief statement on social media, without any further context regarding this decision. Although the post was deleted from their Instagram channel fairly quickly, the statement remains visible on the Knotfest channel as well as on the website:

"Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson. We wish him the best in his future endeavors."

So far, there is no explanation of the circumstances that led to this latest split within the Slipknot band structure. Likewise, no statement on the matter can be found on Sid Wilson's own channel to date.

The band's familiar lineup thus continues to shrink - whether #0 will be reassigned in the short or long term remains to be seen. The most recent lineup changes involved drummer Eloy Casagrande, after Slipknot parted ways with Jay Weinberg, and sampler Jeff Karnowski, who took Craig Jones' place - both have been permanent members since 2024.
