The countdown is on – just one week until Rock am Ring kicks off, and the 40th anniversary line-up is seriously stacked. From iconic legends to fresh newcomers, there are a few standout acts you absolutely need to have on your radar. Whether it’s your first time or your tenth: here are our five top picks.
Sleep Token
No other band has skyrocketed quite like Sleep Token in recent years – from secret sensation to full-on headliner. And rightfully so. Their atmospheric blend of alternative, djent and emotional intensity turns every show into a full-on ritual. Haven’t seen them live yet? Rock am Ring is your perfect chance to witness the phenomenon – and most likely catch some new material off their new album Even in Arcadia. Whether you’re already a die-hard fan or just curious about the hype: don’t miss this one.

Lorna Shore
Brutal precision, orchestral drama, bone-chilling growls – if that’s your thing, Lorna Shore is a must. With their intense and technical live performances, they’ve earned their place at the top of the deathcore scene – and in 2025, they’ll finally make their long-overdue Rock am Ring debut. If you’ve seen them before, you know what’s coming: total destruction. If not, now’s the time. And who knows – we might even get a sneak peek at their upcoming album I Feel the Everblack Festering Within Me.
When and Where? Mandora Stage, Sunday, 9:05–10:05 PM
Poppy
Originally announced back in 2020, delayed due to the pandemic – but in 2025, it’s finally happening: Poppy is making her Rock am Ring debut. And she’s coming in strong. Over the past year, she’s fully broken free of all genre boxes – and blown audiences away with her bold blend of industrial, metal and avant-garde pop. With collaborations alongside acts like Knocked Loose and Bad Omens, it’s clear she’s found her place in modern metal. If genre-bending sounds are your thing, don’t miss this set.

If you’ve seen them live, you already know: expect chaos, comedy and full-blown fun. Their special DJ set at Rock am Ring 2025 will be hosted by band member Pascal Schillo, who already tore up the stage at Wacken 2023 with a blend of remixes, metal, EDM and pure festival madness. Expect lights, exclusive edits and maybe even a surprise guest or two.

With a unique aesthetic, emotional intensity and razor-sharp sound, their live show hits hard and sticks with you. If you’re on the lookout for the next big thing from the UK alt scene, you’ll want to catch Static Dress.
