It's the year 1971: Ian Fraser "Lemmy“ Kilmister is on tour with his band Hawkind in north America and is is detained on the border due to possession of amphetamine. Subsequently, getting kicked out of the band, Lemmy has no other choice but to head back to England. There, he immediately starts a new heavy metal band. You might know the name, Motörhead? Even though the band got a label deal very quickly, they lost the contract shortly afterwards, without ever releasing a record. Lemmy and co. wanted to call it quits, but then something out of a fairy tale happened! At their farewell show, they got offered ANOTHER record deal and later released their debut MOTÖRHEAD back in September 1977. The rest is history! Even today, the band are still one of the most important acts, influencing genres like speed metal and thrash metal and bands like the mighty Metallica.
Their iconic status didn't change when lead singer Lemmy Kilmister sadly died on December 28th 2015, only two days after his cancer diagnosis. In an interview shortly after his death, drummer Mikkey Dee confirmed that the band wouldn't continue without Lemmy. With the last Motörhead album ever, BAD MAGIC (2015), the band once again climbed to #1 of the British album charts - The first time since 1981.
