Translated into English, the name of the band "Polaris" means "North Star" or "Pole Star". Australia is not known for freezing cold and long dark nights. But as bright as this star shines in the sky, so clear sounds the Metalcore of Polaris, which arises in the midst of the scorching heat of Down Under. The band is in good company with their genre on the continent. Stars like Parkway Drive, Northlane, and The Amity Affliction are prominent examples!It's remarkable how quickly the band was able to build a loyal fanbase. With their first album The Mortal Coil (2017), the band released songs that are still part of every good Core playlist today - including "The Remedy", for example. Since their second album The Death Of Me (2020), they are no longer just a tip for genre connoisseurs. With Fatalism from 2023, they even landed at number 1 on the Australian charts for the first time!Tragically, shortly before the release of their third album Fatalism, Polaris guitarist Ryan Siew passed away at the age of only 26. The band canceled their planned festival dates. However, Ryan's guitar playing continues to be a part of the album and thus lives on through Polaris.
