There’s a new deal from Slipknot, and there’s plenty of new music – though not from Slipknot. Instead, Lionheart, Annisokay, The Halo Effect and The Pretty Wild are dropping fresh tracks. And as a bonus, there’s a last-minute chance to see the first signed band of Corrupted Blood Records live tonight. More on that below!

Slipknot close deal on their music rights

As already reported in the summer, Slipknot had been considering a deal with HarbourView for a while. Now it’s finally signed, and Slipknot have commented on it:

“After 25 years in the music business, we have found a partner who is ready to continue what Slipknot started. Only they want to make it even bigger. Get ready. Hail The Knot.”

The exact sum has not been disclosed. Estimates suggest around 120 million dollars being paid to Slipknot. In return, HarbourView will receive future royalty income that would originally have gone to Slipknot.

HarbourView CEO Sherrese Clarke explained the move as follows:

“Slipknot’s music redefined heavy metal and created a global cultural phenomenon. HarbourView is honored to help preserve and expand the group’s work for decades and generations to come.”

Corrupted Blood Records: Secret show in Berlin

The new indie metal label founded by YouTuber and streamer HandOfBlood, Corrupted Blood Records, promised to reveal its first band today. And the date is set: a secret concert by the newly signed band is scheduled tonight in Berlin. You can even win tickets last minute. Just tune in to STAR FM Heavy Hour with Jakob Kranz at 7:45 p.m (CET). So don’t miss it!
