Alongside Black Sabbath, Motörhead, and Judas Priest, Iron Maiden is one of the most significant English exports. The band has been active since 1975 and has sold over 100 million records and conducted countless stadium and festival tours around the globe, achieving everything a mortal could dream of. Even though Maiden, as fans and the press affectionately call them, had their musical and pop-cultural peak in the 1980s and 1990s, they have never lost their energy. For nearly half a century, they have released albums more or less regularly and continue to play wherever their fans want to see them. Always with them: their charismatic and sometimes fearsome mascot Eddie, the Mummy.
