Ozzy Osbourne was connected to the Royal Family of England for many years. Now, shortly after his death, he was honored at Buckingham Palace in London. During the traditional “Changing of the Guards” ceremony, the band of the Coldstream Guards played the iconic Black Sabbath song “Paranoid” on July 30, 2025. They are one of fourteen bands of the British Army. On the same day, the funeral procession for Ozzy Osbourne was held in Birmingham.
Ozzy Osbourne and the British Royal Family
Ozzy Osbourne had a strong connection to the British Royal Family and had already performed the song “Paranoid” for them once. In 2002, he performed at the convert “Party at the Palace” and played the song in the presence of the late Queen Elizabeth II, then-Prince Charles, as well as Princes William and Harry.
In 2003, after Ozzy had a serious accident with a quad bike, the now King Charles III himself sent him a bottle of whiskey to make him feel better.
Now the royal family has bid farewell to him in an emotional way – and in true Ozzy style – by letting “Paranoid” ring out once more at Buckingham Palace.
