Malevolence have surprised us with a new single — more precisely, a new ballad. The track “Silhouette” was originally written during the sessions for Where Only The Truth Is Spoken, but ultimately didn’t make the final tracklist. Anyone who listens will quickly notice that this wasn’t due to the song’s quality or its ability to hit you right in the feels. It simply came down to not overloading the album with too many ballads, which might have disrupted the overall sound.
Malevolence themselves wrote about the now newly released song:
“This song was put together during the WOTTIS writing period several years back, sparking much internal debate whether the ballad quota on the album had already been met, along with concerns that the vibe was nearly a lil bit too wet for a Malev
We revisited the song post record release and it was agreed unanimously between us that it was far too much of a banger to rot away gathering dust on our hard drive.
We shot a simple video last week and had it turned around rapid for a timely launch on valentines weekend.
Heavy riffs and breakdowns is something that we will never give up, but we would like to thank every single one of you for giving us the freedom to release whatever we like with seemingly zero negativity. [...]
