The term Predator refers primarily to the 1987 action film that combines elements of horror, sci-fi, and war films, featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, known from Terminator, in the lead role. The first part was followed by the 1990 sequel "Predator 2". In 2010, "Predators" was released, serving as a direct sequel to the original film. The crossover films with Giger's iconic aliens are still not considered particularly substantial, but the title "Alien vs. Predator" is well-known to almost every fan of science fiction and horror.
