IMPERICON UNDERGROUND PART 10: DEPARTURES
Scotland is well known for its musical exports especially in the mainstream but there has always been an undercurrent of great bands in the rich hardcore scene. Departures are one of these bands who have taken a step away from the heaviness we’ve seen in the past from bands like Broken Oath and By My Hands and added a melodic take on the genre.
Having already shared the stage with heavyweights that includes Dead Swans, Trash Talk, Miles Away, Cruel Hand, More than Life, Defeater, Pianos Become The Teeth, Man Overboard, Hostage Calm etc, they also played this years ‘Hevy Fest’ alongside Dillinger Escape Plan, Architects and Four Year Strong.
Recently we have been spinning their latest record ‘When losing everything is everything you wanted’ in the office at least once a day and it’s still not getting old. With lots of plans in the works for 2012 we can see these guys going a long way.
